Are Your Salespeople Using Twitter?

A salesperson who contacted me on Twitter would probably be the very last I'd consider using. Just keep in mind, this is not going to work for all clients and will work against you for some (like me)... who are very technically savvy and just believe this is the wrong place for business to be conducted. Twitter feels like a very informal place for someone to be 'doing business'.

I can't agree with you lordmogul. Business is being discussed on Twitter all the site. We use @wecandobiz to broadcast details of sales leads being posted on our business social network, each tweet linking back to the person with the need. We have members who tweet about what they are doing for their clients and it's not unusual to get contact within minutes asking if they can help someone else with the same thing.
It's not hard to do business on Twitter, but a "hard sell" approach won't work there as much as it won't work anywhere.
