I don't think they should give a free upgrade because everyone knows the risks when buying into a product especially software. I know alot people who rushed to get vista when it came out and some were happy while others were outraged going back to XP grunting. If Windows 7 runs as good on release as the RC version then I am sold on it because it runs like a dream vrs the Vista's old platform. I say to the Ultimate uses take your loss and move on I can assure you the Windows 7 64bit Ultamite version will be very much worth the cost.
Should Microsoft Give Vista Ultimate Users Free Windows 7 Upgrades?

Well here is just my humble opinion. I got vista ultimate and it was also plagued with non working programs and that it over rides my bluetooth software and other programs. AND THEY DO NOT WORK, so I am sitting here with a computer that does not work, and then here come WINDOWS 7 with a sky rocket price Tag people should sue MICROSOFT for their failure's. Mark

at my local staples the upgrade price if you preorder it is only 64.95 for the premium and 124 for the ultimate . . . which is not to bad ( i have vista home premium 64 bit which cost 143 for the oem version and i'm looking at the 64.95 and i have used the win7 beta and rc and they both were better then my vista experience lol) but i don't know how much the full versions would cost ( yes you are right and it will be a lot higher in price)
markww good luck if you try to sue micro$oft and there many lawyers will just tye up your case till you get old and grey

Those who want a free upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate x64 or x86 only have to download and try the beta, available since (before) January 2009, valid till June 30th 2010. At least eighteen months of Ultimate for free! By then, your existing hardware will probably be a dinosaur and obsolete (according to Moore's Law).

Satisfied people do not complain.
{Chinese Proverb}
If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain.
~ Maya Angelou, American Poet and Author (1928 - now)
Poverty without complaint is hard, just as wealth with arrogance is easy.
{Chinese Proverb}
When we stop complaining, it frees up our energy to focus not only on what we want, but what we already have that we are grateful for. I promise you, if you do this on a regular basis, you really will find that you'll start to attract more positive people and experiences into your life -- more to be grateful for. Once you find that you can go for a full day without complaining, then try for two days, then three, and so on, until you can stop complaining altogether. Does one day sound like too much to start with? Then instead of complaining about it, try for just one hour. If you catch yourself complaining, then just start the clock all over again. Don't give up; keep trying. You'll find that it's well worth it.
