Has anyone found issues with installing SP2? I worked with Microsoft for over an hour last night and they just called me back and said there must be corrupt files and I need to repair the Vista Operating System. I ran the System Update Readiness Tool, shut down all services except Microsoft, uninstalled my antivirus, shutdown most of the startup programs, shutdown the firewall. I just did the scannow and it did not find any integrity issues.
I have to find a Vista disc with SP1 to repair as my HP came with Vista preloaded.

If you have a HP with pre-installed vista and no OS disk, then you should have the OS on a separate partition on your hard drive. It should be called "System recovery" In the start menu "Start search" type "recovery". Click on recovery manager and follow instructions. This system recovery program will also allow you for one time only (I have a HP) to create a OS system disk (or disks, mine took three) in case your hard drive bit the big one. This should have been the first thing you did when you got your computer. Anyway, this program will return your computer to "Out of the box" condition. Thats right, with all the ads and junk you get when you bought it. Better make a back up copy of your programs that you added after you bought it. If I remember right, they go bye, bye when you run the recovery program.

Good luck......Jeff

I installed SP2 without any problems.
It took about an hour and a half- i wasn't expecting anything TOO big, but when finished i noticed that i gained 47 gigabytes!
Although i`m still curious about how this happened, i'll gladly welcome 50Gb of extra space :D
