Anyone else like me and sick of AT&T's horrible service?
The US is the only country with the iPhone that doesn't allow MMS messaging and tethering yet? Gimme a break. If you agree, sign the twitition!!

ATT has been fine for me. I get service most everywhere, sometimes in places I could not get a signal from Verizon.

MMS is coming according to ATT. In the meantime, just use the email App - it is just as good and free!

Oh you're not alone assusean2002, I am actually headed straight to the AT&T store to cancel my account. Kind of ironic that its on the same day as the new update, but again....its not the phone I am upset with. If AT&T can't get their act together with major features that would be cash cows for them then that is their loss. AT&T has had a long time to either lower prices for data services, or at least offer MMS & tethering - they've done neither, so they lose my business and I will rely on skype.

Iphone battery still sucks. Also the signal too (there are areas where an ordinary cell has full bars where iphone has no bars at all. Also, true multitasking is lacking where other smartphone users already enjoy. All stuff that were added has been in other smartphones for ages. I don't want to belong to apple's communist world! Too controlling. I don't like style I need a good phone which not an iphone.

Apple is pissing me off. Now that my piece of crap known as the iPhone 3G is on its last leg, I was thinking about using my first-gen iPhone, but they won't let you use some of the features on it that you can use on the iPhone 3G, like A2DP. I like the iPhone, but Apple needs to stop getting high from slowly killing off "old" products, like it's doing with Snow Leopard.

By your logic, I guess I should be pissed at Palm for not letting me upgrade my old Palm OS based Palm Treo 755p to the new WebOS, right?

Sorry, but old hardware not being supported by new software upgrades is just a fact of life for ALL electronic thingies (computers, smart phones, etc). Some times is it because the older hardware just cannot support the new features of the new software. Other times it is because a company just does not have to resources to continue supporting an ever growing list of hardware and has to draw line somewhere.

Jailbreaking addresses all of those issues, except battery, but I never have a problem with it dying-just keep a charger in the car. I can multitask, and am not subject to Apple's controlling 'big brother' attitude. I don't have the reception issues I see people talk about, but maybe I am one of the fortunate ones.

I'm running FW 3.0 on AT&T and found a way to unlock tethering and MMS that actually works.

Seriously, get a clue before "giving you a break" lol. MMS is outdated technology, emailing is the new standard btw and its free (MMS comes out of your text allocation if you don't have unlimited), and on top of that MMS takes up a substantial amount of bandwidth, hence why AT&T did not want to support it. I doubt you will even be able to MMS on EDGE, and have to have 3G or better. Tethering is easy to do from the iPhone moron, go google "tethering on iPhone 3G 3.0" and you will find your answer. And YES it can be done without jailbreaking your 3.0 software right now.

Well then, I just purchased a 3GS to replace my 5 year old trusty Motorola phone - so old that it was made before cameras were available on cell phones. I read the article and your complaints and praises and will have to Google definitions for the techno-jargon so I will leave the tech bickering to you. However, I am very happy with my new toy/tool/indispensable IPhone. I am still learning how to use it and have found the Apple website itself very helpful when I have questions. Yes, ATT can be spotty in it's service, but I live way out in the boonies and can get onto Edge very easily.
Please, everyone take a step back and look at what we have now. We have internet access that fits into our pockets. This is amazing, liberating, wonderful....Wowie Zowie!
