The numbers seem to indicate that Bing is cannibalizing Live Search's users, more than anything else. It's too early to say if there's any trend upwards in overall figures, but the totals for Microsoft's two search products are pretty flat.

Hi, Dude,

You are upset right? when comScore data come out, you will be even more. Just wondering, without Microsoft, you may not even have a job. Enjoy!

@techjunkie001 Who's upset? JR's saying to reserve judgement until there's a larger data sample (i.e. several months of post-bing data) before saying that bing is really eating into Google's share.

Side-note: What on earth is "decision engine" supposed to mean? It looks like a search engine to me. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

"Decision Engine"?
When do I need "Microsoft" to make "decision" for me?

It's amazing that when Microsoft has about an 80% market share with IE and about a 90% share in the OS and Firefox and others come along and grab, say 10% of the market share, they are up and coming and MS needs to watch out. But when MS comes out with a new search engine with only 7 or 8% market share, they are a failure.

Hey PCWeird, did the big bosses over at Microsoft not bow down to you enough? Is that why you consistantly write negative articles about them?

Yeah I agree. No doubt that Bing is performing well but it would be too early to comment or to start a discussion who is gaining Bing or Google. As we know its still the intial stage for Bing. Let the time decide who is best.

Read the article, people.......they're talking about TRENDS and the fact that this is one tiny change over one month, no more or less than what happens in any other month. IE has been losing far bigger numbers, and for months on end. If you don't see that difference, you're missing the whole point here.

At this point I'd venture a guess that a very high percentage of the searches done on Bing are a direct response to the media blitz. To put it more bluntly, I believe most of the recent Bing usage can be put into the category "WTF is a Bing?"
