Good customer service and and market-ready, bug-free products have never been a big priority in the computer business. I just had a particularly unpleasant and frustrating experience with Dell customer service over what should have ben a very simple matter. I can't imagine I will ever buy from Dell again (after 3 computers, monitors, drives, printers, etc).
If I had bought Vista, I might well be looking for a non-Microsoft OS right now.
It's about time the computer industries started to focus some energy on improving customer service, not just giving it lip service. It's not as competitive as it could be with Microsoft having a pretty good strangle hold on the market, but alternatives do exist for every company, especially if the consumer is driven to them..

Don't rush Win7 out the door,it's not ready.Go to the Technet forums or any other tech forum to see the problems people are having. http://social.techne...ategory/w7itpro .
Microsoft doesn't need another Vista.

1) Guess this is MS's choice. With their profits dropping.....they really have no choice but to release on the scheduled date. But then again, they don't need another rushed OS, like Vista was rushed. So it's their choice.
2)Office Web seems to have lots of potential....but .ODT? Sure. I'd say include .ODT and .doc/.docx. But definitley not .ODT only. I mean, how many ppl actually know about openoffice? I haven't met many.
3) As for Customer Service.....they DO NOT need to change that. Hey, while it may be terrible, give Apple's customer service a try. Nothing. Nada. Reports of burning iPhones? Apple: No answer.
Burning Ipods? No answer. Apple just simply DOESN'T CARE. And I'm comparing apple...because there really isn't any other competition out there for MS other than Apple. The only thing MS needs to do here is....well explain things a million times more clearly! For example, what's up with MS and the Win7 upgrade proccess?

I don't really care about ODF capability nor do I wish that there was a web page built to try to act like Microsoft Office. What they need to do is listen to the customers and tell the EU to take a long hike off a short cliff. Governments have not privledges to tell businesses how to build their products. If I were running Microsoft I would just ignore the EU altogether.
