Go take a look at the new yahoo tv...it is one of the worst AJAX Web 2.0 site one can put together...especially the tv listing. Hope they will read the users' feedback and go back to the old. This has to be on top of the 'worst 25 AJAX Web 2.0 site' list.

[quote name='Alber1690']Microsoft Windows Update and Hotmail should definately not be on this list. Windows Update has helped greatly in updating our software, and if used, has prevented virus spreading. Hotmail is used by the most people around the world and although their current UI is out-of-date, that is why they over re-making the world's most used online e-mail client to continue satisfying its users. Besides those two, great list.> {quote:title=Alber1690 wrote:}{quote}> {quote:title=sidneynick wrote:}{quote}Your remarks re Hotmail.com (#20) are grossly unfair to the Hotmail of today. You tell them who is an authorized sender, and any other posts get sent to the junk file, where they remain 5 days and are gone. During that time it's your responsibility to check the "junk" mail for posts you may actually want. What could be easier?> > > > I couldn't agree with you more.About Windows update, what more could be wrong with it? It uses your internet connection without your explicit permission, and what's more, any hacker can pull apart the security updates and release a virus that attacks the computers that haven't updated yet. Counterproductive and ask me.Gmail destroys Hotmail. Why? Over 10x the space, AUTOMATIC virus and spam blocking, emails are deleted... um... NEVER, and you can set custom filters so that e-mails get placed in different folders. If that's not good enough, you can get Thunderbird and have that check your e-mail for you. Its spam filters are simply amazing.BTW, thank god for the MySpace post. Besides the fact that the molesters and spyware/viruses are real, who the hell cares? Not to destroy your self-esteem or anything, but who the hell cares what you did last night? Nobody wants to read about that crap. Its like looking at the who's who celebrity magazines, except with pettophiles instead.

LoL! BonziBuddy. I remember that way back "in the day". I uninstalled it and it took my Windows 98SE install with it, requiring a total reinstall of windows. I have always hated Myspace.com, I still avoid that place like the plague!

Nice list, but Windows Update and Hotmail!?? You have to be kidding me--- including Hotmail because of a security problem in 2002? Windows update is the "only reason to use Internet Explorer".... riiight. Your list would have been better without the anti-Microsoft agenda. How about something slightly more recent than either of those two websites like Google's Video "store?" Oh wait, where's PC World located? That's right in San Francisco, probably woulnd't want to offend any of your buddies or your editor... to everyone out there-- never forget to consider the source of what you're reading!

I don't understand why myspace made #1. Granted, most pages look like a train ran over them but thats the result of the people who created their accounts. Granted it wouldn't hurt to at least make it so that you dont have to scroll the screens, encourage teenagers to post their own html code intead of using default page makers. The issue of creating personal accounts, message boards, etc is not unprecedented before myspace went up. I think the main reason people hate on it is the same reason people hate Walmart, because its BIG.MEL810: Spare us the anatodal evidence please. As unfortunate as it was, we shouldn't change how we live because of unfortunate incidences. This is how terrorism and fear works. Besides what is a 17 year old girl doing in college anyway? Remember, if we shut down myspace, the terrorists have won.lrosen9999 wrote:As a psychologist who studies MySpace,#1) psychology is not even a real science, but is notoriously wanting to be considered such, #2) theres a lot of junk "science" that has come out of your field of study, no offense, and #3) psychologies study MySpace?? Gee, no wonder the government funds studies to see how fast ketchup rolls downhill.Ceolwulf: I agree with MOST of what you said. However, "STEP ONE: Confront the person. Don't run to the cops because some 40 year old guy just told your 15 year old girl that her boobs are puurty. Your girl shouldn't be putting up skanky pictures in the first place. Just tell the guy to back off or you'll be forced to take action, and, more than likely, he will. If he doesn't, hit that little Print Screen button at the top of your keyboard and take it to the cops.My girlfriend has been hit on over the internet a few times, and everytime I've told the guy to back off. I didn't flip, I didn't threaten, I told him to not do it anymore and he stopped. Maybe some parents need to learn how to... well... parent."You are wrong with your advice for the first paragraph. "Running" to the COPS is the thing to do. Telling the perv to back off will only make them move on to the next person. For every 100 or so intelligent teenagers like yourself, about 1% of our population is completely retarded (in the dee deedee way, not downsyndrome way). alert the authorities by ALL means. These perves need to be in jail. "Your girl shouldn't be putting up skanky pictures in the first place."No 1, this is called blame the victim. People posting "skanky" photos is not the cause of getting raped, nor should it be justified. No 2, whose the puritain now; no 3: what makes you the judge of what skanky is. Should women, and men for that matter (something to think about the next time you walk around shirtless out in public) change how they dress when walking the streets because of fear of rape. No, that is called pandering to fear, a form of terror. Again, if we all stop wearning "sexy" clothing, the terrorists will win.To all: blaming myspace for your bad parenting is well, bad parenting. Also, let me tell you how much I cringe at how fear mongering works. You people railing on the safety of myspace are probabbly the same people who use AOL. Teach your kids some common sense and dont blame others that either you are a bad parent or that your kids are Dee DeeDees. And don't forget the wise leason we all learned from the Mongolians.

The article states that Microsoft Windows Update can only be used with Internet Explorer; however, it will also work with Mozilla Firefox with the Internet Explorer Tab extension.

[quote name='DellsCommunistCapo']What about www.pcworld.com ?Oh man, I can not stand that place. And those forums! Who does that "Nameless" guy think he is? Acts like a moderator.=PThought I'd play along.BonziBuddy before Aluria Software? I just came to realize that Aluria didn't get their name up there. they claim spyware protection, then they struck a deal with one spyware company. To top it off, the administration deleted ALL traces of them ever doing so on the website, then denied ever having any such relations with said company. The only thing worse than spyware: liars who semi-promote it, then deny their marketing ploy in front of 1,000,000 eyes who were complaining about it (who were happy to put up screenshots of their confeesion).

I just tried to look at a site that makes all these look like works of genius:
www.geoffreygiuliano.com
Seriously, it's the worst website I've ever looked at, EVER.

I find this the worst, yet the funniest website I've seen online. Warning though to sensitive people its basically a super right wing.. well lets say there are no wings left, (or marbels) former radio host that got fired for.. well.. you'll see. http://www.satansrap...om/starwars.htm Theres more to the website then just that page he goes off on just about everything (oddly enough even Falwell and Billy Gram).

I find it amusing in one (star wars) the AntiChrist is a jedi master who wants to kill god. In another he will open up Hogwartz school of witchcraft and wizardry lol.

Not to be an advertising junkie, but:
http://loserslounge.org.
It's basically based off of MySpaces flaws in an attempt to make one of the best social networking sites on the internet.
It does eat at your CPU and does contribute to the memory a little more than most sites, but that is expected when flash is used.
I'd highly appreciate an official PC World overview :)

Finally, someone has hit the nail on the head regarding MySpace--especially,"...and make new "friends" quickly turned MySpace into a one-stop shopping mall for online predators. That in turn has made the site an easy target for politicians who pander for votes by playing on parental fears."

It is irresponsible and wreckless that the media implies sexual predators can reach through the computer monitor and snatch a child. More disturbing are the recommendations how to keep a child safe on the Internet. My article, Sexual Child Abuse Prevention--To Catch A Predator. http://ezinearticles...dator&id=500531 has parent approved and child test techniques that will keep your child safe.

Thank you for having the courage to write this compelling and honest article.

I think HP's web page should be on here twice. Their page goes down every day. They use the same web page internally so when you can't order parts, they can't order parts. We've lost customers because of their poorly managed web site.

You forgot "My Coke Rewards.com". It has to be the number one slowest, full of animated popups in the world.
