The HDMI 1.3 specfication was just finalized. No 1.3 compliant products have yet been shipped. I wouldn't wait for 1.3 because nothing will be out there to take advantage of it for a few years.

I am interested in a 20' hdtv with pc feature to use on my desktop, is it better to go that route or is it better to get a monitor and tv tuner?

Good description of HDTV buying tips in language everyone can understand. Well done. Another interesting page shows what's the right HDTV for you based on some questions it asks you: http://www.thedigita...elevisions.html

Dont Forget to look for one with at least 2 Component Video inputs and optionally, an NTSC Tuner for local stations not broadcasting HD on your cable. this happens quite often! Standard Progressive scan DVD players use a Component video input and your cable box will use one too.

Worthless article... I hope the author's don't get paid for these. "Buy with your eyes" huh, technology is cheaper in the future? Wow, how profound. Glad I checked this article for such insight. - wasted 3 seconds of my life. Why not discuss the confusing issues of HD tvs like LCD brightness and contrast ratio specs and how they compare to Plasma specs?
