I'm trying to open a php file type but its saying it doesn't know what program to use, I select word pad and tick the remember program box and when I try to open it again it asks me repeats what I just said, also I cannot create .php file types but 2 days ago I could. When I goto the registry I try to open the .php key and it says"Cannot open .php: Error while opening key" Does anyone know a way of fixing this?

According to http://filext.com/de...p&Search=Search php files do not seem related to this alienware theme program. If you believe this program caused the problem, you can try installing and uninstalling again to see if it solves the program.

I had a very similar problem, if not the same on 392 registry keys. I only noticed it when I lost the ability to view .pdf files. To fix the problem you need to open Registry Editor, find the troublesome registry key(s), go to permissions, add the group Everyone (just to be safe), give full control, click on the advanced button, and go to the owner tab click on a name and check the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" box. Then click OK. it should give you a message like "Unable to set new owner on .php Access is denied." Click on ok again to close the permissions box, and you should have access to .php registry key once again. That solved the problem for me (well the 40 or so that I've fixed so far).
