almost every time i perform a microsoft update, the documents that i have in my inbox get moved around. tuesday many of them were sent to the recycle bin. since i didn't want to lose them, i sent a copy of them to my pictures. now these copies have a bak extension and i am unable to open them. is there any way to:1. prevent this moving of files from happening in the first place.2. addressing the bak extension so these files are usable.thanks, Ed James

Some people think I'm crazy but I just don't bother with updates unless I need something specific. They aren't worth the trouble.

don2007, i am not knowledgeable enough to disagree with you. many people stress how important the updates are. every time i update i worry while it's happening. thanks, Ed James

Stay with your gut feelings. If you have to worry every time you update your PC, then I don't think it's worth doing. I don't care what the others say.
