Mozy Delivers Solid Online Backup
I think the reviewer missed one of the more important aspects of a backup system--restoring a lost file. When I did my "bake-off" last year, iDrive won because retrieving files was much simpler and much more flexible. Mozy (at the time) would send them to you in an email, eventually. With Idrive, I could get them from any computer I had idrive installed on, and get them immediately (including previous versions, which both do fine).
The two advantages I saw for Mozy were: it works on Macs, and the Backup client was slightly easier to use & much better looking. Feature wise, backing up between Idrive and Mozy were close to the same.
So, with a distinct advantage for Idrive on the restore, I chose that.
The good news is that most of these companies allow the 2GB-for-free deal so that you can do your own tests for free (and probably backup all your essential files, excluding multimedia).
