Receive Error Messages When Attempting to Boot My IBM Thinkpad 600x Laptop
I have an old IBM ThinkPad 600x laptop. When I try to boot it it gives me 3 or 4 error messages.
I want to know if there's a way I can bypass them somehow and get into the OS? I just run into a dead end everytime I start it.

Hi eclipse, The error messages 00161 & 00163 are a likely sign that the Bios battery is gone and needs replacing. As for the 08611 error, that is a track point failure and likely means there is wire from the keyboard to the computer loose and needs to reconnected. coastie65

I don't know. Take a look at this: http://forums.windrivers.com/showthread.php?t=23130 this might help. As for using a usb mouse or wireless mouse, you would have first disable the onboard mouse. I suspect that ribbon cable may be for your onboard mouse. coastie65
