BSA Study Shows Software Piracy Declining in Many Countries
This is obviously based on a press release from the BSA, which is probably why there is no mention of open source software, which is the biggest way of eliminating piracy. One of the reasons I use open source is just to avoid activation and DRM schemes when motherboards fail and other issues. The countries with "the worst" rankings are very poor, where a computer and its software can be the equivalent of a family's annual income. Open source is becoming a much bigger factor worldwide and will continue to be so just for this reason.
