I have a list of great tech suggestions on how to spend your stimulus check / tax rebate:

Does anyone else object to the federal government's just handing out taxpayers' money?

They do it all the time to multi-billion dollar corporations (it's nicknamed corporate welfare), so it's nice that "We, The People" get a turn, even if it is only a one time deal, and it isn't quite as much as McDonalds gets from the government for their advertising campaigns. I for one am not complaining. It helped pay down some of my bills.

I would much rather that they don't give any welfare to anyone and spend it on something worthwhile such as the national debt.

Had we elected a worth-while president whose cabinet didn't consist of crooks for the last eight years our national debt wouldn't be astronomical. So I don't want to hear about it. Mine went directly to bills. Thanks to our current administration I can barely afford to put gas in my car and drive to work every day.

I certainly don't think that both my wife and I need to work 60 hours a week and barely get by as it is. Buy hey, why not right? The rich get richer, the poor get poorer. At least that's been the case for about the last eight years. Oh well. Have fun with your new toys, well those of you that can afford to spend it on something other then bills.

It's also due to the Federal Reserve's printing all that "money" and devaluating the buying power of your dollar. Printing more dollars only benefits those who get it first.

C'mon, do the math and open your eyes folks. If gas goes up just 50 cents this year (it'll be more than that) and you use just 15 gallons a week for everything:
.50 x 15 x 52 = $390.00.
Now tell me: Where do you really think your tax rebate (and everyone else's) is going to be spent? From there, well, just follow the money to see who besides the oil countries and companies are really getting the rebate check. It's just a handfull of people raking in tons of money.

Same thing happened during the first term: You got a tax rebate and it all went straight into rising gas prices the same year. It's called "wealth transfer" (from the masses to the few). It's an age old Republican tried & true method to get money out of the Treasury and into the hands of the wealthy few. Read "The Robber Barons".

You're preaching to the choir.

I already did it and I'm viewing this article on the result right now. When my PC died I built another with the help of the stimulus check.
