Re: Missouri Woman Charged in 'Cyber-bully' Case
Here in the State of Virginia and the County of Henrico, that woman would have been charged with involutary manslaughter at the very least, as she was indirectly responsible for that girls death and in all likelyhood, she would have been convicted. Granted, she may have only ended up doing 5 years behind bars, which is nowhere near enough, at least the local authorities would have brought some action. mcbarker had it right. Once her sentence is done then Civil Action should be taken. Whatever it takes to make sure she has a lifetime to think about what she has done as that is about how long her punishment should last. There is nothing puritanical about this. This type of activity should not be tolerated, and a message needs to be sent to that effect. Social sites should be fun, and anyone abusing these sites with that type of activity should be found and prosecuted. In my opinion, the site may well be equally culpable. When the flaming started, the monitors ( if in fact there are any ) should have immediately put a stop to it and not let it continue and removed the post. It is a shame that you've got an Adult woman that shows less maturity than my 14 year old nephew. coastie65
