Re: Looking for Opinions on Comodo
Comodo is a firewall i believe and its pretty good for a free firewall but i still prefer zone alarm as a firewall. As for antivirus i prefer avast because it has the best real time protection compared to avg 8.

Re: Looking for Opinions on Comodo
Give Comodo Pro a try. I'm running the free version because I got tired of the basic stuff Zone Alarm has.. You'll like Comodo but take into account that during the installation the user will be asked if they want to initialize "Defense +" which is a setting that runs behind your system to ask for permission of the execution of DLL's and software installations on your Operating System. If you install software every 30 minutes on a daily basis, you will quickly become annoyed by the pop ups.

AVG 8 Free is NOT that bad. I'm actually enjoying the newer "improved" interface compared to the old style. I haven't had any problems.

Re: Looking for Opinions on Comodo
I have been switching between Avast! and AVG. Recently I had a mass of adware, trojans and keyloggers on my computer (downloader apprently), anyway. I didn't even know with Avast! I downlaoded and installed AVG 8 and they picked up most everything.

Hi 8Mile and welcome to the PCWorld Communities. :D

This exact question was posed not too long ago. Please take a look at this Discussion Using both AVG and Avast As Security Against Viruses. There is a wealth of information within that Discussion that should answer all of your questions related to AVG & Avast.
