Does PCWorld scan downloads before they recommend them in articles such as 101 Fantastic Freebies?

Hi Number. I believe this may have been addressed from the Private Message I sent to you; however, please review these two Documents:

What does it mean when my system reports "spyware" or a "Trojan horse" in a file from the PC World Downloads Library?

About the PC World Downloads Library

This would also apply to any applications that are recommended since the majority of those applications will be linked back to the Download Library. I am sure Kellie will be along shortly to provide any additional information you need.

Besides the info that MPH gave you, I want to address your question more directly. We get our downloads from a third party service called Digital River. Yes, they are scanned prior to being added to our downloads library.
