Hey, can some one check for me if this is compatible?

Hey, can some one check for me if this is compatible? Im a noob at building computers, but i find computers i buy are too expensive...

List of Components
1.A8N32-SLI Deluxe Motherboard (Athlon X2/ Athlon FX/ Athlon 64/ Sempron, nForce4 SLI X16, Socket 939, ATX, 4GB DDR, 1000MHz Bus)
2.Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Dual-Core Processor (2.4GHz, 2MB, 2GHz Bus, Socket 939)
3.2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 DIMM Memory Kit

Can someone plz check and make suggestions? my budget is anything under $1200.

Nope, Socket 939 doesn't support DDR2 RAM. If you got a Socket AM2 board and CPU then you could use that RAM otherwise you have to go down to DDR RAM.

Note that 1 mentions 4GB DDR and not DDR2 if you want another clue.

That motherboard will work with the DDR2 memory. Now you need another CPU with that same socket for that motherboard, likely you could find an Athlon 64 x2 4800+ just with the Socket AM2 instead of 939.

The performance is slightly better than before since the memory works at a higher clock speed.

Ok, then get DDR RAM and you could use the motherboard and CPU you originally listed if you want a cheaper route I'd think. The speed difference in AM2 isn't that big I think so it isn't that big a deal unless performance trumps budget.

Socket 939 and DDR vs AM2 and DDR2 that's the choice...
