The Pirate Bay Moves to Counter Swedish Wiretapping Law
Not just phone conversations, but digital Internet traffic as well. That's why The Pirate Bay guys are advising the use of encryption technologies to make it much more difficult to eaves-drop on said traffic.
The really creepy part of the story is that 90 percent of the Swedish population were against the passing of this law -- but the Swedish Parliament simply ignored them and passed it anyway.
Sound familiar? The current U.S. "model of democracy" is spreading to the rest of the world. If you use the words "terrorist threats" then apparently "anything goes" when governments introduce new laws to spy upon its own citizens. Horrificly, the "war against terror" will never have a clear end -- it can go on for as long as the government says there are threats. The government would never lie to its people, right? I mean, we're much safer here in the U.S. now that Saddam Hussein is gone, right? Without Saddam we need not fear his WMDs. But the new "threat" is Hezzbollah and Iran. Hmmm..
