Re: The 15 Hottest Games of Summer

My console is a PC, most consoles now are a PC. My psp can run linux, windows 98 (going to try me or 2000 on it soon) and other os's.

thats just a starter.

Re: The 15 Hottest Games of Summer
Far Cry 2 didn't make the list because it isn't coming out this summer (rather, this fall).

And we certainly could have done a "15 Hottest PC Games" list, but it would've had to be "of the year." Besides, as someone else already noted, that box you're plugging into your TV's near enough a PC on the inside, never mind all the PC-like things you can do with an Xbox 360 and PS3 in terms of plugging in keyboards, camera/voice chatting, browsing the web, etc.

Re: The 15 Hottest Games of Summer

Well, let's look at the other recent news posts:

"Cheap Ink: Will It Cost You?"

May as well get rid of that, seeing as it's only a printer and not a PC.

"Dawn of the Megazooms"

Well, so much for cameras.

"'Get Smart' Phones You Can Actually Get"

No phones, either.

...and there's oh so many more.

Point is, PC World covers far more than solely things related to computers.

The other posters have a point, too. The newest consoles, as well as being PCs (or damn close), can also interface with PCs on the network to stream media. Welcome to the future!

WRT Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

They really need to come out with a Guitar Hero : AC/DC. That would be a MAJOR seller.

How about Guitar Hero: Learn to play a real f'n instrument. Comes with a brand new contoller that is actually a guitar. Game play consists of tabs, sheet music and tips to get you started. Has an audio pickup that you plug into your consol to say if you are playing the right note and at the right time

Re: The 15 Hottest Games of Summer

There's just one problem with that: the majority of people that play Guitar Hero do not want nor do they have the time to learn to play an instrument.

Instead, they like to do something pretty crazy: play a video game! Instead of forcing all of their friends (who they only wanted to relax with in the first place) to all go buy instruments and practice for years, they can spend $80 and get a little plastic controller and a game and pretend they're playing all of their favorite rock songs for a night, because that's all they want to do.

It's all the fun of being drunk and not giving a shit without ruining an actual concert.

Because Far Cry 2 is apsolutly terrible. Everything about the game is lazey. I could program a better game myself.

What ever happened to games like Myst and Riven? Games you can play at your own pace, that aren't full of gore and killing?

the internet was created, and gaming competitiveness (aka pwning face) took over single player games.

There is a very fine line dividing the successful multi-players from the single player ones. And both are going pretty well.
