windows- i'm not stupid edition (i wish)

I
can't wait til microsoft makes a version of windows for advanced users.

The
one thing i can't stand about xp is the networking notification balloons.

I
disconnected from my network for travel, xp says that it will keep trying to
reconnect to the wireless network. DUH! i know the computer is not connected. I
have no need to reconnect at this time. It's like saying- hey stupid i'm not
connected any more.

And
the other thing i don't like is that the balloons don't go away, If they popped
up and then dissappeared after 2-3 seconds i wouldn't mind so much.

Finally,
why does windows update take so dagum long? And then after waiting for 10
minutes, i get critical updates that don't even apply to me. I have office 2007
installed but not outlook 2007, I have to sort thru and make sure they all
match.

Caps lock, not necessary all the time.

Hi crazy4laptops
Windows is meant for all types of users. Beginners use it their way , and experts use it in a different way.

There are settings to turn OFF this behavior but needs to be explored (experts users) , jk ;-).

I dont mind clicking on a notification the time it comes. Consider the case , if an imp. notification comes and passes un-noticed , who are you going to blame then.

another of an XP annoyance. Switch to vista. Windows update is built in rather than every time going through IE checking. Result - faster and better.

was just a suggestion to avoid some of the xp annoyances.

The decision is always of the owner.

Re: widows- i'm not stupid edition (i wish)
People complain about annoyances, system resources, notifications, etc. But yet they don't research how to turn off, fix, upgrade etc THEMSELVES. Quit blaming an O/S for doing things when it's your lack of intelligence with computers that causes the problems. Default settings are just that. Not everyone has the same needs and im sure MS probably thinks that people with different needs would adjust/change the settings to meet those needs. Guess they were wrong about the intelligence of humanity, lol.

Hi bluefalconloyd

Thats what i said in my first post - different people use it in different ways. Its up to the users to chose how they use it. ;-)

Welcome to the small club here on pcw who love this damn vista OS. :) Add another V .

Haha, I know that's what you said. I just figured I'd through in my elaboration as well :P It makes no sense for someone to say they want a Windows that's not stupid edition when they're not even smart enough to customize their current OS for their needs.

Oooh I see, you're talking about Windows... MSFT Windows... :0

The title of your thread says "widows" so I thought you were talking about women whose husbands had died.

Hi Crazy. Unfortunately, just fixing the main post of the Discussion will not correct the issue going forward. I am not sure if this is a flaw in the system or not but once there is a reply to any Discussion, the Discussion title will not be able to be changed. At this point, the only way for your change to be noticed in the Main Community page is for everyone to respond directly to your original post. All subsequent postings will have the original Discussion title.

I am not sure if this is something that will ever be addressed by Jive, the company that maintains the site itself.
