Either downgrade or switch to Opera or Safari. Having a dual core and 2gigs of ram means nothing. Internet speed has nothing to do with processor or ram.

Good point, LilxKid. Terms such as "faster" are all relative. actual figures may be the determining factor.

  • My computer cannot boot. What is the reason for that ?
  • My computer cannot boot , Should i try the safe mode then ?

What if someone starts two threads similar to the two lines i wrote above. One is asking for the reason and the other for the solution. Will it make sense ???//?/

It is always advised to start new discussions for different topics to avoid confusion but creating multiple threads for same thing isn't justified even if you slightly change the language of your question. That itself creates confusion and don't expect everyone to come to every discussion and repeat the same steps.

I had left a link to you original discussion so that others can directly go to that discussion as the first question that would have been asked to you on that thread would have been  - what's the problem with firefox ?  See the connection, if  you can understand .
But if you feel my post was dumb and it was well worth starting a new discussion quoting me , then its up to you.

OK, PEACE. Back to topic. Should ie7 be used , oh sorry....why is ie7 faster than firefox 3.0 .

Nothing is true , Everything is permitted.

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Runs Faster Than Firefox 3 on My Dual Core Computer
As a quick non-scientific test, I timed the time from clicking on the "PC World Community" root at the top of this discussion. In Firefox 3 it was 12 seconds, in IE7 it was 8 seconds.

Now there can be many reasons for this including the data flow on the net, and the local slowdown. Also the fact that IE7 has been out a while, and FF3 is brand new.

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Runs Faster Than Firefox 3 on My Dual Core Computer
Firefox is optimized for dial up connection by default. All u need to do is change the settings to achieve the best performance. The how to do can be found in the January 2008 issue, pg 127. I too did not use firefox for the same reason, until this issue came out, i do not even reconsider going back to IE 7. I hope this will help.

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Runs Faster Than Firefox 3 on My Dual Core Computer
I might have figured out why since you guys might not have configured the speed for firefox to speed it up.

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 8. This means it will make 8 requests at once.

Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
