AOL a good service?

Ok, I have not used AOL for years but as you may have heard it is now a free service if you access it thru DSL or Cable. My father has been using it for years and the simple email interface serves him well. I like the spy-zapper feature too. It is good for some users. Anyway, I know AOL has been bashed for many years and I think it deserves some positive comments now that it is a free service.

Re: AOL a good service?
AOL is garbage. There internet service sucks. I remember using there dial up service like 4 or 5 years ago and they over billed me and it took so many calls to cancel there service. They would ask this and that. The internet experience sucked and they charged high. Plus aol loves to spam people with there junk which is another reason why many people hate it. Only AOL product i use to this day is aim because mostly everyone i chat with has aim. Even with aim when you install it they want to install a crap load of junk like there toolbar and other useless junk.

:D Hi :

After an extremely bad experience with AOL ( it is called "AOHell" on the Avast Support

Forums ), One does not take a chance on alleged "reformation" when there are so many

Others available .

Re: AOL a good service?

It's been 4 days since the discussion was new but what the heck.

It all depends on who you ask. I've had relatives that were customers of AOL and hated it. I also know friends who had serious problems with connecting because it was unreliable. I would recommend staying away.

Aohell I haven't heard that term in forever.. since no one uses it anymore lol. I had it a long time ago on a computer far far away. Aol is overpriced, clunky and not worth it.

Re: AOL a good service?
I've heard some horror stories about AOL. Didn't they go bankrupt, or get bought by somebody else?
