Re: Cannot Access a Website
With Pleasure, Sliqnes. :D

SuperAntiSpyware is free so you should have no problem using both applications. There are several Discussions and Documents regarding security within the Privacy & Security Community. I would advise you to check them out by clicking here.

As a final step, if you feel your situation is resolved, please mark your Discussion as "Answered" and select the two (2) posts that you feel were "Helpful" and the post that you feel was "Correct."

Re: Cannot Access a Website

You can have more than one anti-spyware loaded. You can only have one "active" where it provides automatic scanning and real-time protection. The other would have to have it's scan manually started by you, preferably when the first is finished. This gets the strength of both, but is a little more work.

Re: Cannot Access a Website

:D Hi :

SUPERAntiSpyware and SpywareBlaster perform different "functions" and therefore,

do NOT 'Conflict" with One another. Therefore can use BOTH at the same time .

Re: Cannot Access a Website

http://forums.pcworld.com/images/emoticons/grin.gif hI :

Thanks for Posting your HijackThis Log . I will mention that I am no HijackThis "Expert" and

based on my limited experience in "reading/interpreting" these, I find troubling the two ( 2 )

"IEXPLORE.EXE" in your "Running Processes" . IF possible, I recommend you go to

http://www.prevx.com/filenames/4066405109152462892-X1/IEXPLORE.EXE.html and

read the Info there AND click the "DownloadPrevxCSINow" button . IF "it" runs, let me know

WHAT it "finds" and we will go from there .

I also find troubling the "PayPal Plug-In/Helper" ; have you knowingly put this on your computer ?

And the "020" Entry indicates you should uncheck the first 2 Settings in the "Start-Up Options"

of SUPERAntiSpyware's "Preferences" Menu .

Lastly, the "Presence" of Norton Internet Security can cause a computer to act "strangely";

eventually we will recommend you COMPLETELY REMOVE this program and will

recommend Good and FREE Alternatives .

Re: Cannot Access a Website

:D Hi :

Concerning the Paypal plugin and unnecessary programs in general : I am a firm Believer

in NOT having unnecessary programs on a computer because they can become an

"Avenue" of malware getting on a computer . It appears that we are unable to help you with

your "Situation" ; therefore, I recommend you ask the experienced, trained, certified,

Volunteer "Microsoft Most Valuable Professional(s)" that can be found on the Forums at

http://aumha.net . They have access to more analytical tools/programs to solve your

problem(s) ( Unless your ISP's Tech Support can do so !? ) . After "Registering" there,

I recommend you Post in their "Windows XP & 2000 ( Win 5.x ) " sub-forum . You MAY

want to include in your Post there a link to this thread .

Re: Cannot Access a Website
http://forums.pcworld.com/images/emoticons/grin.gif Hi :

Use the FREE Avast Antivirus Home Edition

( http://www.avast.com/ ) ; you can read about it at

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html . Prior to "switching" antivirus program,

it is wise to read a product's "FAQ"s & Avast's is at

http://www.avast.com/eng/faq-avast-4-home-professional.html . They also have

EXCELLENT Online Support Forums, where I occasionally provide Advice .

IF you do decide to "switch", you will need to run the "Norton Removal Tool", One of which

is available at http://www.majorgeeks.com/Norton_Removal_Tool_SymNRT_d4749.html

PRIOR to actually "Installing" your "new" antivirus program . It is ok to just "Download" the

"new" antivirus program PRIOR to "running" the "Norton Removal Tool" . Running the

Norton Removal Tool and "Installing" the "new" antivirus is best down while

disconnected from the internet .
