A couple of weeks ago I downloaded an encryption programme and did I get caught,a trojan lobbed in with it.The download is recommended on PC World-it is"iTruecrypt".It got thru my firewall and antivirus and I had to do a full reinstall(big job).
To make matters worse a few days ago I noticed there was an update, and this is where you will see that I am not just your average idiot ,I must have been in a mental fog because I forgot about the problem with the first Truecrypt download, and I downloaded the update(bad move)it destroyed my operating system again-XP Pro,and have just completed the second re-install.I put this on this forum because1.To warn you all and2.to inform PC World because I can see no way of emailing them.So please don't make the same mistake until the infection is cleared.I have contacted Lavasoft(the supplier of my firewall) and they said they will look into the problem,I sure hope they do.Have any of you any suggestions as to go about reporting this to whoever can rectify it?I don't want to go anywhere near the Truecrypt site,I realise that Truecrypt would not know about it,it looks to be a good piece of software and I believe the company to be an honest one.
