Can I Upgrade Processor?


So, did you upgrade? I have the same laptop with the same processor. I just wondered if it worked. If so, did you have some sort of BIOS to change or ?

Part of the problem would be finding the new processor. They are not as readily available as desktop processors.

Well, it really isn't hard to get a processor. I have a Turion 64 x2 1.66ghz coming and wonder if I will have to reset the BIOS to use it. I'd just like to know someone's experience on this, assuming he/she actually has done the swap. I'm running a Sempron right now and the Turion 64 x2 1.66ghz is one of the offered processors for this computer. BIOS? or will it just sort of Plug and Play?
