Help with upgrading my computer PLEASE!!! Thanks

I want to Upgrade my computer this is what I have below I would like to get maybe a 3 or 4 ghtz chip. I would like a good video card and I am wanting the xtreme fidility sound card from creative. I would like to upgrade to the new power and ide cables I think called ATA or Sata or something. The little black plug ins instead of the big bulky stuff.I want to do games, music recording, and video production. So i am looking for something powerfull but yet not over 1500 dollars. Any suggestions on what I should get like if Intel or Amd is better now. I have been out of the upgrading stage for a while and there are so much out there now I am a little lost. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Also I am looking for a great dvd r and dvd dl burner. That can read dvds as well as burn them. I have a nec 3520AW it burns great just doesn't read dvds that well espcially ones with little scratches on them. Thanks again.

I didn't see what the spec was for the frontside bus, or the IDE speed of the hard drives and the interface. The video could need an upgrade to Nvidia's card with at least 256 Mb of memory. A mother board swap to a faster Pentium D type at least running 3Ghz would lead to upgrading to the newer PCI-E standard and might as well go for the SATA of at least 300 Mhz and a frontside bus of 800 Mhz. Get the idea, each part could advance you, but not like a single purchase would give you the noticeable speed increase you might consider worth the price. A complete rebuild from the ground up, as in power supply, larger drives and memory up grades. If the mother board will support it, the processor could be upped to maybe a 3 Ghz or 3.3 Mhz if you can find the chip. That alone would dictate a power supply upgrade to at least 500 Watts and then a 256 Mb video card would have a processor to work with. I don't know what the frontside bus speed would turn out to be if the system board allows, as this is dependent on what it is now. Then a memory upgrade in speed also would be needed to compliment the increase in bus speeds. A whole host of upgrades just about means a complete new system and keep the old one, buy a router and run it too....

Power supply - $70.00 500 or more watt with sata support and sli plenty of power to run two video cards and 4 harddrives
Sata2 16mb cache 250g - 2 for $99 so thats $200.00 to run in Raid mode
Total : $1350
Does this sound like a pretty good start for a good computer, what about the price? I am getting it from someone that gives pretty good deals although I am sure if I just bought everything myself from Newegg I could get it for a little cheaper.
Also Later I am gonna buy another video card so I can run in slli mode with 2 of the same cards. Also I am gonna get the Creative XFI Pro which is around 400 I think.
You guys think that after I get all this it would be a good machine to play games plus record and master music and videos?? Any opinions on the price and or parts in this custum machine I am about to buy, would be appreciated. Thanks again for the replys so far.

Sounds like a pretty quick unit
But don't forget the software costs too. Unless the supplier will toss it in for free.

Software yeah I already got the software, I am just speaking computer hardware only. I have windows xp pro and all the video audio editing software I need. but Thanks anyways
