Looking for free software to rename multiple folders

I've fallen in love with CKRename, it does just about anything I want to do when it comes to renaming hundreds of files at once. But, I've hit upon one of it's few shortcomings - it won't rename folders (if it can, then I haven't figured out how :D ). Does anyone know of an easy way to rename dozens of folders at once? (Windows XP)

Re: Looking for free software to rename multiple folders
I dont use many 3rd party utilities as most of the things can be done without them .You can rename multiple files/folder by just selecting them all, then rt click and rename. All will be renamed with same name and a different tag in brackets .
I m not sure whether this will help you but it will do what you are trying to do.

A single dos command will do that also.
But in the end , its user's choice. ;-)

I've used (free) Bulk Rename Utility (from http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php ) for years. It has more bells & whistles than I'll ever use . . . & I rename 1000's of digital image files. It handles folders as well as files.
