Wireless security on a laptop

I am going to purchase a laptop for a trip. I need to be able to pay bills, read the paper and play an occasional game so I need to get a laptop but my problem is the secuirty issue. The house we rented has wireless internet and I dont want the house next door picking up on my banking transactions. Is there a program that I can load when I get the laptop, or buy with, that protects from other people seeing what I am doing? As you can see I am new to laptops and wireless. Thanks for your help.

Re: Wireless security on a laptop

if wireless router is your router, then set password on router will prevent your neightbour from access your Network that has your computer on it. your router make local network that only u and your family member can access.

if router is from other people, don't enter this network, u have no control. Likely they will see your computer in network and try to enter.

trust me, to access your computer and look around in computer by wireless router is difficult task for average joe. as long u don't left your bank information open. though I am 18 and haven't do bank and tax stuff yet and not any soon. But I am sure that some people has good information for software that do such thing. also I understand that Bank use secured website (how it work? Idk b/c of my age) so it won't got stored in your Hard drive. My parent keep track by Microsoft Excel. (make sure that your excel database are well hidden or keep it in Flashdrive in Safe)

if u have problem with my english, sorry, it is your problem, not my problem
