What the hell audacity?

So, im recording on audacity, and it turns out that something is wrong, New tracks are either cutting out somewhere or they are slowing down

and I have verified this by playing the same simple stupid 4/4 drum beat twice in a row. When I play it I am spot on. I know I am. When I go to play back one track starts out in synch but slowly one slows down.

Its weird.

Now I do have a nice little synth program called Abox running alongside Audacity. That takes priority away from the soundcard. But its the only way I can add keys to my music. I need it open and running along side audacity.

So someone recommend me some audio software? A modular soft synth that doesn't sound like ass and is low priority without being an assfull of latency? Some kinda audio driver for a Creative SB Live! card that won't do that?

You're stuck with the sound 'ass'.

Audacity is the ONLY open source alternative unless you prefer to pay for something in return.
