Re: How can I remove corrupt program on windows xp. My old Dell laptop crashed when I tried to remove through programs add and remove,Now keep getting blue screen.
The malware was one thing, but when he posted that he couldn't install SP2, that pointed me in a different direction. Of course if he can manage to get it cleaned up, maybe SP2 will install.

Hey spirtwind, You looked up the wrong thing as in her second post the message said Cyber Defender.

http://www.cyber-defender.com/EDC/landing/10/?affl=Motiveinteractive_p2d&campaign_code=296276&int_page=1 I checked it out, but am not really sure of it. coastie

As itman stated she should try and unistall Cyber Defender in safe mode as I think that may be the problem. I put a link to the site of Cyber defender and I'm not real sure of that thing. May be something that behaves like Norton, not very well. I believe if she can get Malwarebytes in there and then boot into Safe mode, and run that as well as uninstall that Cyber Defender. She may be alright. coastie
