No Video on DVD Windows Media Player 11

I have a Acer Aspire 5100 w/Vista Home premium. I had not tried to play a commercial DVD until recently. All I get is audio, no video on Windows Media Player 11. I've looked through several support forums w/ no luck. I was able to play a DVD when I first got the laptop (about a year ago). YouTube, network vide players and home movies on WMP seem to work.

Any ideas?

Hi Doff. Have you installed any Video player lately..?....Like Roxio...etc....? IF Yes.....Try one of this codecs..:

Plug-ins for Windows Media Player ..: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx#DVDDecoder

If you only have WMP 11....Then try this Vista Codec Package..: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Codec-Packs-Video-Codecs/Advanced-Vista-Codec-Package.shtml

TAKE TIME TO READ THROUGH STEP BY STEP WHEN YOU INSTALLING VISTA CODEC PKG....YOU MIGHT NOT NEED ALL OF THE SOFTWARES THAT COME WITH IT.
