Problems with IE 7

I downloaded IE 7 and am trying to get comfortable with it. I have two recurring problems: 1) Many of the links that are clored blue will not redirect me to where I'm suppose to go anymore and 2) I frequently get the message IE has encountered a problem and needs to close. Any ideas on how to resolve these?
Thanks

Hi Lobtuf,

Try this :
1. In *IE7 *click on *Tools, Internet Options *and then the Programs tab.
Click the button Make Default.
Also put a check in the box marked "Tell me if IE is not the Default browser"

2. In *IE7 *click on *Tools, Internet Options and the Advanced *tab.
At the bottom where it says *"Reset Internet Explorer Settings" * click the *Reset *button.

3. Go into the *Control Panel *and double click on the *Add/Remove Porgrams *icon.
Click the button on the left *"Set Programs Access and Defaults" *
In the righthand pane click on *Custom *and click the _blue arrowheads _to expand everything.
Choose *Internet Explorer *as your Default Web Browser.
Choose *Outlook Express *as your default e-mail Program.
Click OK.

Let us know how you get on.

and if what Wainui suggested doesn't work, kill I7 and revert back to IE6. let microsoft work the bugs out first. there are browsers (firefox2.0) out there that work much better...

good luck!

Your registry might be damaged. You will have to *uninstall IE7 *first using the method shown in the link below and then do a *Repair installation *using the Recovery Console.

Hi,
The problem you are describing is occuring because of toolbars. I am in IE7 support and I think I can help you. Since IE7 is a new version, Yahoo and google toolbar as well as most of the others cause problems.

I have collected very good tools and articles and compiled in one site. Visit this site for whatever problem you may have with IE7:

Reset the internet explorer by going to control panel-internet options. Choose the 'advanced' tab and click 'reset' button. This will not delete your favourites but will only reset the websettings, delete temporary files and cookies. It also disables third party add ons.

Also uninstall the toolbars from 'add or remove programs'.
