Cheap Fax Service

Hi all,

Is there a cheap(er) email to fax service that you pay as you use? Most seem to be subscription-based, and I just don't need that. Just once in a blue moon I need to send a fax, and am will to pay up to $3.00 per fax.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Re: Cheap Fax Service
I've never used these, but you could look into Faxaway or do it without any need for a service (at least that's what it looks like) by following the instructions at this link.

Re: Cheap Fax Service
When I upgraded to Vista and my old scanner would not be supported, I chose to upgrade my inkjet printer to an all-in-one. I knew that I would lose my access to free hard faxing at work when I retired (this past July) and have used it several times for just the cost of a telephone call. (800 numbers of course have no cost).

This does not totally answer your question at this time, but gives you something to think about if you face replacing a printer in the future.

Hi Plarsen and welcome to the PCWorld Communities. :D

I do not use fax services so I have no personal knowledge on this subject. However, there was a recent PCWorld article about two major free (or low cost) fax services - eFax Free and FaxZero. Here is the article:

Re: Cheap Fax Service

The services mphenterprises mentioned are subsciption based, but I don't think you'll find a simple solution that isn't so I would (as would mphenterprises) go with what Rick Broida recommends in his article: Ditch Your Fax Machine.
