Strange thing happening on my computer w/ music

Sorry if my english is bad.

So I have problem with my computer. I have a portable computer and I download music in a compressed folder. I extract the folder and get a picture (the folder contain photo of album and songs).

When I transfer compressed folder to different computer not my portable computer, I extract folder and see the the picture and all music files.

Anyone help me with my problem? PS I use window vista...^~

Hi Minsuray, and welcome to PCWorld Community.

Sorry, but I'm having a bit of hard time understanding your question. It seems like you're having problems downloading music to your Laptop?

Yeah, what specifically is your problem? File won't open? Chances are, you may need to fully open the compressed folder first and then transfer each file over, or you need a utulity that will do that for you.

Re: Strange thing happening on my computer w/ music

So you downloaded a compressed folder onto a vista PC and it showed only album art . Then you transferred it to a xp pc and it showed album art and music files both. Is that what you are trying to say ?

Can you post the link from where you are downloading this file ?

Hi minsuray, What I would try is this: Once you have downloaded the Zip File on to your portable, Open them to a file in MY MUSIC. I understand that they will take up a lot of Hard drive space once they are open. Now once the files are open and in a folder, you should be able to transfer the folder to your desk top. That having been said, I am not aware of any problems between Vista and XP as far as file trnsfers go, so it should work. coastie

Re: Strange thing happening on my computer w/ music
these are normal .zip archives. Vista by default can open these type of compressed files. When you have the files , just right click and there will be an option Extract all. Use it and see , the files should come up properly.
