Well, I don't think that can be because even when I go to bed for the night, when I come down to the PC hours later, I'm still logged in and in the Who's Online section. I'm interested to know what your experience is.

Okay, here is what I found out. It actually takes about an hour before one is cleared from the Who's Online list. From what I saw, each time I checked the list, my user name was lower in the list. Here are the screen shots I gathered. Click on each image to enlarge it

After 12 minutes of idle time:

After reopening Firefox:
I cannot speak for anyone else but this is pretty consistent with what I have experienced in the past. My initial time frame of five minutes was way off but this should shed some light on things.

That's pretty interesting. It looks to me like it could be that the last one to post a message goes to the top of the list. I'll go check after I post this message. Did you get the last two shots mixed up? You're still on the list after re-opening Firefox, and you're not in the list (at least not on that page) in the shot of 60 minutes.

Yeah, I do some advertising in CL. It is so amazing how many companies advertise on Craigslist. The bulk of my clientele comes from word of mouth.

You must have been on the second page in the 60 minute shot, I guess. Thanks for doing the leg work of the experiment. It was interesting.

Nope, they are not mixed up. The second I reopened Firefox, I did a refresh on Internet Explorer. That produced what you see in the fourth image.

I knew I should have included a screen shot of the second page. I can assure you I was not listed on that page. AuroraDizon and another member were on the second page. I'm glad I could shed a bit of light on the subject. If I can help in any other way, please let me know.

OK, that was confusing. Maybe the whole feature needs to be revamped. I've noticed a couple times (not today) that while I'm signed in, I'm not in the list. Here you are; you were signed out and still in the list.
