4:3 resolution questions
It is known that standard computer resolutions are in the 4:3 ratio such as 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 etc.
However there is one peculiar resolution which is 1280x1024.
This resolution does not seem to follow the standard, it is 5:4. By right to satisfy the ratio, it should be 1280x960. Despite this, this resolution seems to fairly common especially in 17 inch LCD monitors.
Can anybody enlighten me on this one?
