Desktop

I replaced my mother board, processor, and hard drive and it all works fine except for waiting a very long time for my desk top programs to configure in the icon tray before going on line. I am running Windows XP. In a previous issue of PC World there was a "how to" article showing how to change settings to optimize all of the settings but my grandson lost that particular issue. Can anyone tell me how to optimize my sttings? Also, the window does not fill the screen. I fixed it once but it changed back on its own. Thanks for any help. Arthur.

Hi Arthur,

If you are a print subscriber, probably the easiest way to do this (if the site search isn't bringing you what you need) is to click "Current Issue" in the upper left corner of the site, next to the image of the current magazine cover. That will take you to a sign in page, where you can sign in with information from your subscription label. Then, you can browse a month-by-month index of the online versions of the articles that were in that month's print magazine. Since you know about when it was published, that may be the easiest way.
