Alienware

I just read on http://support.alienware.com/Support_Pages/Support_Area.aspx
"PC World readers rate Alienware as a leader in customer satisfaction." I find this very hard to belive. This is why.

I just called about sending my notebook back to have it worked on. I was told they I would have to pay shipping, I have no problem doing this. Then I was told they wanted $259.00 for shipping!!! I called the UPS store they told me they would package and ship any where in the USA for $25.00 plus another $5.00 for extra insurance. Shipping both ways plus insurance and packing would be around $60. So alienware is ripping people off for about $200. I can only guess they do not want any return customers.

My Area-51 m5550 notebook is only an year and half old and this is the third time I have had problems from it. Was it was 6 months old the battery died, alienware said they do not warranty the battery. Then the wireless card failed, my notebook was a whole year old then, alienware did not fix that either not covered. And yesterday the mother board when out. So I would think alienware would be working with me to get my notebook fixed, not tring to dip me off.

Well, http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,123409-page,8/article.html is a link to the article which is dated Dec. 1, 2005 fwiw. Did you try the support from 2 years ago to confirm that this wasn't the case?

JB

I didn't find it on Alienware's site. Rather, I googled some of the words from the article and found that link. I'd agree it should contain a date on it but on Alienware's site I don't think they have it.
