{size:18px}[/size:a2deb9ea6c]:D Hi :

Would NOT have this product on my computer; the Developers have
a "shady" Past. You would be better to view the info at :
www.filehippo.com/software/firewalls/ , selecting either the
Sunbelt Kerio, Sygate, or Zone Alarm . If you select Sygate, I would
be willing to post a link to its "SetUp Guide" .

Comodo is the Best
Zone alarm free has become very "leaky" and vulnerable. The Pro package is very expensive.

Comodo has done extremely well in firewall tests and it is FREE!

I've used for nearly a year and love it. Their other products are not-up-to-snuff (yet) but Comodo Firewall has protected 4 of my computers. It also scans for known apps. so you don't have to add them all with endless popups.

{size:18px}[/size:38a6f480a5]:D Hi :

A while back the Comodo Developers were promoting
"rogue/suspect antiSPYWARE program(s)" and to this
day I think they are in the database of the spyware-
prevent type program called "SpywareBlaster" .

Best to ask an experienced, trained, volunteer Malware
Expert on an antiSPYWARE Support Forum about their
"history" and IF they can be "trusted" nowadays .

I've installed Comodo Firewall on two of my computers on my home network and find that it works pretty well. There are allot of configuration options and it is very easy to understand and use and haven't had any problems with it so far.

According to Dark Reading, an IT security website, Comodo was the best firewall available - including both free and paid versions - of 21 different firewalls.

Here's the article: http://www.darkreading.com/document.asp?doc_id=111976

First paragraph: "Comodo, a leading provider of Identity and Trust Assurance Management solutions, today announced that Comodo Firewall 2.3 has been rated as the top firewall product in a recent independent test of the security capabilities of major personal firewalls. The analysis, conducted by security specialists Matousec, tested 21 of the most popular firewall programs available (including paid versions from Norton, Zone Alarm and McAfee) with an array of leak testing programs to determine which product provided the best protection. The results confirm that Comodo Firewall 2.3 is the most secure personal firewall solution in the marketplace."

Comodo is now up to version 2.4. I'm using it now myself.

I've stopped using Comodo, because it was asking me repeatedly for permission to do anything. I'm talking having to click OK over twenty times to use Firefox to go to one website. I don't know if it's a programming glitch or simply overzealousness on the part of the firewall, but when you spend more time granting permissions than you do browsing there's something seriously wrong.

I'm back to using Zone Alarm Free; may switch to the Pro version since it did pretty well in the security tests.

Ultimately I intend to get a router for a hardware firewall, which is cheaper than a software firewall over the long haul.
