i have a question my brother has got a new laptop last month the OS is windows vista home basic before 2 days he has got a problem with his DVD drive it doesn't recognize any disk it has been inserted. he talked to the HP Helpdesk and he was told to uninstall the drivers and restart his computer again and then install the drivers again from add new hardware but what happened, he uninstalled the drivers and when he was restarting his computer and when the desktop screen is coming up the mouse is freezing and even he can't use the keyboard
NOTE the system clock it's working fine!
he has to press the power button to switchoff the laptop

any help plz would be great? does he need to use the safe mode or restore files or ......??????
