Computer for Video Editing

I am looking at purchasing a new computer for video editing. I will be doing some HD videos and I need it to be a lap top. Does anyone have any good ideas?

Are you looking specifically for a PC or are you open to a Mac? A lot of the people that I know who do video editing use a Mac Book Pro. The only downside to using a laptop for this is the limited hard drive space -- video takes up a lot of room.

I tried video editing when I had a pc and also on my father in laws new laptop and it doesn't work very well alot of audio and video sync issues. but on my macbook pro everything works flawlessly.. I have had no issues what so ever with performance.. and the applications are so much easier to use. I would recommend a mac... but each to their own..
