I don't know for sure but here are a few possible bottlenecks and questions:

1) RAM -> 1 GB is the recommended minimum for Vista and if you plan on playing games that use a lot of system memory then I'd highly suggest getting another GB for a minimum.

2) Resolution on the TV vs. the Graphics card -> Are you planning at playing the games at a high resolution like 1920 x 1200 or higher? If so then you may want to go for a higher card like an 8800 GTS or if you want current top of the line there is the 8800 GTX.

3) What games and settings in the games are we talking about here? If you are talking about relatively newer games that have high requirements that's one thing, while another point is are you going for Maximum details and making the graphics work the hardest? Also, which version of Vista is it coming with: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business or Ultimate?

The processor should be fine for most games unless you get thousands of units in an RTS game that can bog things down. Vista does have some issues if you look at gaming on Vista articles like http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2097093,00.asp

I'd likely suggest putting in another GB of RAM to it. Also, you ignored my question on what resolution does the TV use? If you game at a low resolution like 800 x 600 then the 8600 GTS should be fine, but if you go for something higher end then it may not have enough power to handle things well on super details though it may do medium OK for some games I'd think. If you took a a 640 MB 8800 GTS then you'd have a bit more head room for things.

Course this is all JMO though you could go look at reviews of the 8600 GTS card to see how well it handles things.
