ActiveMovie Window:explorer.exe - application error!

Ladies or gentlemen, I am hoping you can help me with this problem. Most recently, I've been getting this error message on my desktop as follows:

ActiveMovie Window:explorer.exe - application error
The instruction at "0x04d2321f" referenced memory at "0x00000000".
The memory could not be "written".

What does this error mean and how can I get rid of it? Thank you so much for your assistance.

I am using Windows XP computer by the way.

That sounds like a Codec conflict...too many installed codecs. To correct this:

  • Go to Your Control Panel and select Sound and Audio Devices
  • Click on Hardware
  • Click on Video Codecs
  • Click on Properties

Delete all the codecs you have and start fresh. Install the necessary codecs as you need them to avoid any conflicts in the future
