Novell Tells Terms of Microsoft Linux Deal
"Novell did not get complete rights regarding Microsoft patents," he said. "For example, office productivity applications are specifically excluded. ... OpenOffice.org is excluded by name, WINE and Open-Xchange are excluded by name,"Ah yes, once again the dumbing-down of America. What is, in fact, stated here by way of punctuation,
improper ellipsis usage and word placement is that Novell did not secure from MS patent rights for OpenOffice.org et al. What is implied is that MS could grant patent rights for OpenOffice.org. That's what the words, as printed, say. Ask a retired English teacher. Younger ones will be clueless as their education was watered down.Today's high school education is my generation's 8th grade and college degrees are likewise worthless. As Pogo said (do you know Pogo the great philosopher?), "We have met the enemy and he is us".Me? I taught science. Why do cake mix boxes, and others, have high altitude instructions? Simple, but I'll never tell.
