Need Help Recovering A file! Por favor! PLZ!

Ok, so I put in my memory card from my digital camera into the little reader device thing via USB. And the autoplay screen did show up, so being the impatient me, i took it out and put it back in. When the screen came up that suppose to have over 800 pictures in it, nothing was in the folder. 0 pictures. It seems to me that when i pulled out the card, it was still trying to read it, and in the process it formatted the card while i took it out.
Using a "Recover My Files" program, can i recover these/some of the pictures?

Thanks.

Help in recovering files
NEVER, NEVER PULL A FLASH CARD OUT WITHOUT DISMOUNTING.

I have actually lost flash memory devices this way. That being said, there may be a way. First do not do anything to the chip with that program. Put the chip back in the camera and see if the camera recognizes the chip and the pictures. Will the camera display the pictures?

If the camera will, then reboot the computer and insert the chip again, taking your time.

If the camera will not, don't try anything until another member of the forum with experience in this area has a chance to comment.

Second thing to remember in the future. Do not store your pictures on a flash card. And always back up the ones on the computer hard disk. The most important three works to you digital files are Backup, Backup and Backup.

Hi chiefwahoo876. RGreen is correct, never touch the flash card until the computer has done what it needs to do. It's similar to when we used floppies, way back in the day. We were always told to wait until the light goes out before removing the floppy disk; same principle.

I think you may need to chalk this up to a lesson learned. If the computer does not recognize any pictures and the camera doesn't recognize any pictures, then the pictures may be gone.
