First, could you turn of the caps lock. All caps is a little tough to read sometimes and is generally considered as "shouting' in Net terms. :D

You should be able to restore to "right out of box" condition. This typically either done by use of a restore CD that came with the computer or with a hidden restore partition on the hard drive. Since you mentioned that you have a restore CD, it seems as if you are dealing with the former. You should still be able to boot off of the restore CD even if the Windoze drivers for the CD/DVD drive are corrupted or deleted. You may have to go into the BIOS settings to change the boot order so that it will check the CD drive for a boot CD before using the hard drive. I would first try inserting the CD and restarting the computer and seeing if it will boot to the CD by default. Let us know if that works.

Oh, and if you do really want to proceed with this option, then make DARN sure that you have backed up all your data that you want to keep from the computer!!:)

Reset BIOS to default
The BIOS can be reset to default from the BIOS menu OR Remove the CMOS battery from the system board. This is usually a round coin sized cell mounted to the board. Remove it and wait 10 minutes. Reinstall the battery and all will be defaulted.

Drivers
Fishead - if you know the manufacturer and models of the CD Rom and DVD/CD, you can go on the internet and find them.. This is a different laptop with two optical drives!
