I agree about your take, Alan. Me? I'm in for Windows Mobile. I kinda wish Windows Mobile sport some 3D looks but multi-touch is not my priority, but scrolling via finger is easier for me than using a stylus to scroll up/down just by sliding over the scroll bar.

But for now, I'm stuck with mom's phone contract (Alltel), but I do pay $40 for a data plan since I have a Pocket PC PPC6700, so I got what I have before I get a credit and that i can get any Windows Mobile phone when I sign up with a different provider.

I don't understand why everyone says that you won't be able to dial on the iphone without looking at it. And I don't think it is a fair complaint. I've had a Palm Treo 680 and I currently have a Samsung Blackjack. I can't dial on either of those phones without looking at the keypad.

Im not buying it just because its Apple. Secondly, the only reason I haven't liked ATT in the past was because of the limited data plan. Now since that is fixed Ill be ok. And I may be wrong but I was under the impression that this WAS going to be highspeed internet (I probably am wrong).
Also, who the heck instant messages people from their phones? It has text messaging and thats all anybody needs. I dont even know anyone anymore who has an IM account. Talk about obsolete.
And finally, Ive had a Treo for a while now and I dial from the touch screen. Never once have I thought poorly of it. In fact, thats a really really bad reason to complain. Its like complaining that the headlights of my new car can't see like my old horse could. You're just gonna have to open your eyes. Anyways, youll get used to it, just like the time you took the sippy lid off your cup. Eventually you wont have to look down any more. Wow, I actually created an account just to leave this comment.

Wow! such words:)I have a iPhone and it is far better than my Palm treo and my chicks Blackjack! I had the Treo for a couple years and had nothing but trouble with it. Ive come to learn that if you buy a device that the manual for use is bigger than the device it will most likely suck! The iphone is super easy to use and setup, no hours of reading to figure it out.My girl has 3G on her BlackJack and we had a race to the net I kicked her butt with the iPhone I had changed to four different very large web sites before she evengot her home page up and useable.I think most people are correct when they say it is not very wise to buy a device in its first year or two but this phone kicks butt and looks good doing it.Also I have used PC based things for years and I have totaly changed over to Mac as it is easy to use has very little trouble and is just a better product than any PC based gadgget out there!
