Digital Camera Disasters: Will Yours Get Fixed?
If Canon has sold over 40 million digital cameras that could have this E18 error, and if the error was experienced by the same percentage of users as the industry average (6%) for camera failures, then over 2.4 million cameras would have this error.I suspect less than 1% of Canon owners have had this problem. It's only noticable by the press, because Canon has sold so very many cameras. All other brands suffer the same issue if the lens can not retract, or gets misaligned. Usually not hard to fix, apparantly. I actually watched a smart Best Buy guy fix one with no tools after a display camera took a serious whack.
