Next Menace: PDF Spam
The people who write these articles about SPAM should talk to me. They always seem to be a couple weeks late. I've been getting hundreds of those PDF messages for over 2 weeks. Same thing happened with the image SPAM.They, (the PDF attachments), have almost completely replaced the image spam messages. I did find a way to filter them, it was much easier than filtering the image messages. I have almost 8000 SPAM messages sent to me every day so I know how to manage it to the point that only about 50 or so get into my inbox. BUT, yes, I'm spending more and more time managing it.It was especially amusing a couple weeks ago when the TV networks were talking about the arrest of the biggest spammer in the business. Then they proceeded to tell everyone they could expect less SPAM in their inbox, RIGHT!

I believe it's inaccurate to be calling them spammers. Spammers are people sending unwanted advertisements. In this case, we are talking about international criminal syndicates engaging in worldwide stock fraud.

What I still do not understand is this: how is it companies think that we're going to buy something if they pester us with unwanted advertising? All spamming does for me is to piss me off. I have a long list of companies I simply won't do business with due to excessive spam. I sure get tired of having to spend the half hour of so that it takes to delete all the junk, just to get at my real messages. A strange new age we live in, where you sell stuff by pissing off your potential client...

It's called spamming, because the method they are using to perpetrate thier fraud is commonly referred to as spamming. So here we are naming the modus operandi, not the crime itself.
